3rd Annual “National Security Briefing” Hosted by Benchmark Executive Search Draws Top CEOs and Federal Officials

Washington D.C. Benchmark, a leading executive search firm serving the federal market, announces the success of this spring’s invitation-only National Security Briefing (NSB). The event was co-founded three years ago by Benchmark and Kipps DeSanto, a leading federal M&A firm, and was co-sponsored this year by Holland & Knight, a multi-national law firm in federal contracting, mergers and acquisitions and compliance.

The event attracted more than 150 of the nation’s top federal industry CEOs as well as Flag Officers and Senior Government Officials from the Department of Defense, Intelligence and Homeland Security sectors. The NSB participants gathered at the Metropolitan Club with critical insights about the security issues facing our country in the 21st century.

“The energy, enthusiasm and interaction among the business executives, flag officers and high ranking government officials at NSB this year was powerful” said Jeremy King, managing partner of Benchmark Executive Search. “We’re humbled that our vision of creating a ‘community of interest’ for government, business, and technology leaders is now a reality that is shaping thinking and relationships around national security.”

“It is rare to have the opportunity to hear such insightful commentary. The experience was incredibly valuable” said Dennis Kelly the CEO of A-T Solutions, a leading global provider of counterterrorism services.

The speakers talked openly about major challenges facing the country and the critical importance of working diligently to strengthen national security against fiercely determined threats in the world today. The panel consisted of current government officials and flag officers from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Army and Air Force who shared their views on how the contracting community can work in a public-private partnership to help solve critical problems in cybersecurity.

“It is not often that you get to hear from and ask questions of such important officials! It was a great session,” said Admiral ‘Archie’ Clemins, the former Commander in Chief of the United States Pacific Fleet.

“National Security Briefing brought together thought leaders and executives from the national security community and there was plenty of time to meet, reconnect and socialize. The guest speakers were top leaders familiar to all who read newspaper front pages. What an assembly,” said Larry Cox, SAIC senior vice president and general manager.
