Previously, Scott served for seven years as a flight instructor and carrier-based F/A-18 Hornet pilot where he was ranked in the top 1 percent of his peers. Scott graduated from the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physic/Oceanography.
