Peter is co-founder and Managing Partner of Benchmark Executive Search responsible for leading client engagements from start to finish.  Peter is a proven executive search consultant with over 17 years of experience. He specializes in the federal market focusing on technology and federally focused services providers and government contractors.  He has successfully led numerous searches for public and private companies ranging in size from $50M to over $2B in revenue such as USIS, Global Crossing and Kaseman.  His search experience includes C, GM, VP and board level engagements.

Prior to founding Benchmark Executive Search, Peter worked for Austin McGregor Executive Search until he and several key partners of the firm founded Benchmark in 2007.  Peter is a well known entrepreneur, equity investor and previous CEO of several successful software companies.  Additionally, he consults with many companies on issues ranging from market strategy, product positioning, capital formation and M&A.  He was also the founder and CEO of two successful software companies in the information security market, Platform Logic (intrusion prevention) which was acquired by Symantec in 2004 and BNX Systems (identity management) which was sold to CitiGroup.  Peter has built and led teams in excess of 100 people with senior boards of directors comprised of investors, industry luminaries and industry leading executives and raised over $30 million in venture capital from top-tier venture firms.

He was also co-founder, seed investor and CEO of Trufina, an Internet web2.0 services provider of identity verification and management focused on the B2B market. Peter spent two years with Milestone Equity Partners as a Senior Partner focused on the early stage technology market (Plaxo and Limelight Networks were top portfolio companies of the firm). Earlier in his career Peter was founder and managing partner of Garrett Technology, a national retained executive search consultancy. Peter was an E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year finalist in 2000, alum and board member of Mindshare as well as a founding member of the Mindshare Alumni Network (over 400 CEO's from some of the most successful technology companies in the region).  He is a member of INSA. Active in charitable organizations as well, Peter is a member of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and was a runner-up in their national Man of the Year contest.
